Antique/Vintage French Grape Pickers' Hod, Early 20th Century
Grape Hods or ‘Hotte’ as they are called in France, were originally used as an essential part of the Grape Harvest at a Vineyard. The galvanised metal Hods were worn on your back to collect bunches of grapes. Now used as Champagne and wine coolers, perfect at Weddings or garden parties. Log or kindling baskets, garden planters or just a stand-out piece of interior decor.
Our grape hods come as they are, structurally sound, with some rusting and paint chipping in places. They have been re-painted/ touched up at some point over time - they have a fantastic look and character to them.
