Original 1980s Huangslite Toucan Desk Lamp by H. T. Huang

A rare original 1980s Toucan lamp by H.T. Huang for Huangslite — the larger version, finished in blue, pink and yellow. The toucan’s “bill” lifts and rotates at the eyes, acting as a shade for the fluorescent tube beneath. A brilliant piece of playful Taiwanese design and a real talking point. Now often reproduced, genuine originals like this — especially in this colourway — are increasingly hard to find.

Condition Report

The lamp is in excellent original condition. Unlike many surviving examples, it has no cracks, breaks or repairs. There are some light marks and areas of fading consistent with age, but nothing that affects its function or detracts from its appearance. A very well-preserved example of this iconic design.
