19th Century Country House Chest of Drawers, c.1880–1900

A fantastic set of late 19th century country house drawers, likely scratch built by an estate carpenter using reclaimed and surplus timber. The 17 drawers retain various branded names and markings to the sides, adding to its charm and history. 

An honest piece with great colour, wear and character throughout. Would work equally well in a home, studio, kitchen or retail setting.

Condition Report

Considering the piece is over 140 years old, it remains in excellent original condition. There are knocks, chips, scratches and wear throughout, all consistent with age and country house use. Various historic repairs are present across the piece and drawers, which in our opinion only add to its character and authenticity. A solid, usable and very honest example overall.

While we restore, clean and check every piece to ensure it’s ready for many more years of use, we don't over-restore or attempt to erase its history.
