Original 'X3 Posters' screen-print produced for Derby Playhouse, dating to 1982
Created to advertise a week-long season of classic Western films, the poster lists screenings of The Big Country, The Man from Laramie and Once Upon a Time in the West, shown at Derby Playhouse between 18–23 October.
The poster was produced by 'X3 Posters', the London-based screen-printing studio founded by Bob Linney and Ken Meharg in the 1970s. Known for their bold, hand-printed posters for theatres, arts organisations and music venues, X3’s work is now increasingly collected as an important part of British graphic design.
A brilliant example of their work, with hand-drawn typography, strong blocks of colour and a fantastic stylised Western illustration. The original X3 Posters printer’s mark and telephone number remain visible within the design.
Presented in a later black frame with blue mount.

All of our items are genuine original pieces and as such will show signs of age and use. We believe these signs of wear — from patina to minor imperfections — are part of each item's story and character. While we restore, clean and check every piece to ensure it’s ready for many more years of use, we don't over-restore or attempt to erase its history. If you’d like more details about a specific item’s condition, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.
